Yes, this past summer saw a ridiculous hike in prices in South Los Angeles, particularly in Leimert Park and the surrounding enclaves of the Crenshaw Community.  Homes were going as high as $730,000 - something no one could have speculated...but it doesn't seem as though things are calming down just yet.

The Expo Line is soon to complete its westward expansion to the beach, and the southern leg of the railway, headed to the airport, is still stretching its way underground.   Even though construction has disrupted traffic along the Crenshaw Corridor, all cash investors and exhausted homebuyers are keeping a keen eye open hoping for new new listings to pop up in and around Leimert Park,  Park Mesa Heights and even further south in Inglewood as the announcement of the new NFL stadium has values soaring 67%!!!!

Bottom line: It's a great time to sell.  There are still multiple offers pouring in that can get property owners over their asking price. Remember that having a good agent who knows the market, the community and the local agents is crucial to getting top dollar and a having a smooth transaction.
